We Shall - Paul D'Amato
@ DePaul Art Museum

In 2004, Columbia College professor, Paul D'Amato began a series of portraits in Chicago's Westside. The series, titled We Shall, documents the neighborhood's residents and domiciles. In it D'Amato explores a marginalized population of people in a very neutral manner, presenting his subjects as they are with very little political or social input. These striking portraits are at the same time filled with emotion while also maintaining an ambivalence that is far from aggressive or opinionated.

The show is open to the public until November 24th. Click here to read more about the show, and click here to visit D'Amato's website.
