Seamus Murphy at The Poetry Foundation

Shame Every Rose: Images of Afghanistan features the work of Irish photographer Seamus Murphy taken between November 1994 and December 2012. Since 1994 Murphy documented Afghanistan and the countries people, which culminated in a published book titled A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan in 2008. In this exhibition the Poetry Foundation has paired his work with "landays", or couplets of oral folk poetry written by and for the Pashtun women located in an area between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Poetry Foundation is located at 61 West Superior Street. The show will be up until August 24th and gallery hours are 11AM to 4PM Monday through Friday.
